Don James trained with Ms Shirley Bourne, O.A.M. and Mr Alan Martin. Don's work is widely represented in Australian and oveseas collections and consists of landscapes, still life and portraits, all painted from life. Don is a signatory member and a past councillor of the Victorian Artists' Society, an exhibiting member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists and Malvern Artists' Society. Classes are held at the MONTSALVAT Artists' Colony in Eltham, at the Malvern Artists' Society and with the Woodend Art Group situated at the foot of Mt Macedon.
